 eBeth Arké Syriac Studies Collection Beth Arké is the Syriac term for “library” or “archive.” eBeth Arké is a collection of digitized materials related to Syriac studies and the churches of the Syriac Christian tradition. It is a project of Beth Mardutho: The Syriac Institute, complementing the Syriac Studies Reference Library hosted by Brigham Young University. The holdings in both eBeth Arké and the Syriac Studies Reference Library come from the Semitics/Institute of Christian Oriental Research Library at The Catholic University of America (CUA) in Washington, DC. eBeth Arké also includes rare items from the personal collections of George Anton Kiraz and others. More information about the digitization of the materials at CUA can be found here. When uploading is complete, eBeth Arké will contain approximately 650 items. The digitization of materials for eBeth Arké and the development of preliminary metadata were done by a project team from Beth Mardutho: The Syriac Institute. Metadata revision and final image preparation were done by HMML. eBeth Arké is hosted on Vivarium, HMML’s digital collections site.
