Stiftsbibliothek Zwettl

Located in the highland woods 80 miles northwest of Vienna, this Cistercian monastery was founded in 1138 by Count Hadmar I. Its collection of 441 manuscripts (chiefly 11th-16th c.), filmed by HMML, primarily represents items produced in the monastic scriptorium.
