Metadata from 47 volumes of Series 11, The Hospital, 1590-1798, of the Archives of the Order of Malta housed in the National Library of Malta have been added to vHMML Reading Room. Records pertaining to the activities and administration of the Hospital or Holy Infirmary (Sacra Infermeria) of the Order of St. John, of Jerusalem, of Rhodes, and of Malta. Records include rules, statutes, accounts, wills, indexes, and lists of personnel. Volumes include printed and manuscript material. View now

The improved metadata for 926 archival objects of the Archives of the Benedictine Monestir de Sant Pere de les Puel·les, Barcelona (Catalunya), Spain, have been added to vHMML Reading Room. This includes records for all the main series, over 1000 parchments dating back to the 10th century, and over 100 notarial registers deposited at the archive. The archive was microfilmed in the 1970s as part of HMML's work in Spain. View now

Metadata for 127 manuscript from Stiftsbibliothek Michaelbeuern, from the Benedictine Abbey of Michaelbeuern, Austria, have been added to vHMML Reading Room. The manuscripts from this library were microfilmed by HMML, and included important collections of sermons, liturgical books, and theological writings. View now

The improved metadata for the 1441 records of the Arxiu Diocesà de Barcelona, Catalunya, Spain, have been added to vHMML Reading Room. This includes records for all the main series, parish notarial registers, Arxiu de la Croada, and several monastic archives now permanently deposited at the Arxiu Diocesà. The archive was microfilmed in the 1970s as part of HMML's work in Spain. View now

The metadata for 383 manuscripts of the Archives of the Inquisition Reverenda Fabrica fonds at the Cathedral Archives in Mdina, Malta were added to vHMML. The Tribunal Reverendae Fabricae Sancti Petri Urbe was active in Malta from 1626 September 19 until dissolution by the French in 1798. View now

The metadata for 308 manuscripts from the Biblioteca statale del Monumento nazionale Monastero di S. Scolastica were added to vHMML Reading Room. HMML’s short history of microfilming projects in Italy preceded the initial work in Austria. Subiaco was one of three monasteries microfilmed. The Monastero di S. Scolastica is digitizing several of their manuscripts, and we have linked to Manus OnLine were some images are availible. Links to major bibliographies have also been added. The metadata for 372 manuscripts from Durham University Library microfilmed by the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library in the 1980s were added to vHMML Reading Room. Several of these manuscripts were also microfilmed in color. Durham University and the Durham Cathedral are digitizing several of their manuscripts, and we have linked to the digital facsimiles when they exist. View now

HMML’s short history of microfilming projects in Italy preceded the initial work in Austria. The Biblioteca del Monumento nazionale dell' Abbazia della SS. Trinità was one of three libraries microfilmed. We have added 65 manuscripts from this collection to vHMML Reading Room, including links to the online digital catalog and online color digital facsimiles hosted by Internet Culturale. Metadata for 124 manuscripts, including over 100 music manuscripts, from the Archive of the Congregation of the Oratory of St. Philip Neri have been added to vHMML Reading Room. This important collection from Senglea contains several manuscripts from Francesco Saverio Baladacchino and Francesco Saverio Politano. In addition to music by Luigi Fenech and Pietro Paolo Bugeja, the music collection also has works by Angelo Raggio, a member of the Congregation.

The metadata for 136 music manuscripts from the Immaculate Conception Church in Cospicua have been added to vHMML Reading Room. This important collection of music manuscripts includes works by Pietro Paolo Bugeja, Giuseppe Burlon, Salvatore Magrin, among other notable composers. The metadata for 87 manuscripts from Durham University Library microfilmed by the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library in the 1980s were added to vHMML Reading Room. These include two manuscripts from Saint Chad's College. Several of these manuscripts were also microfilmed in color. Durham University and the Durham Cathedral are digitizing several of their manuscripts, and we have linked to the digital facsimiles when they exist. View now

382 music manuscripts from the Archive of the Commissariat of the Holy Land in Valletta have been added to vHMML Reading Room. This important collection of music manuscripts includes works by Pietro Paolo Bugeja, Francesco Azopardi, Emanule Muscat, among other notable composers. vHMML Reading Room 3.0 is now available, including a new UI design and new search panel to match the vHMML Landing Page launched in August. Reading Room search is now located in the black bar, and both keyword and advance search options appear once you click and begin typing your keywords. The search saves after initiating your query, and remains at the top of the page to refine your results. The new blocks on the Reading Room landing page allow novice and expert users to quickly enter the collections using preset topics that will rotate. A featured collection will also be highlighted. New navigation to our checklist for Reading Room collections and un-cataloged collections are also highlighted on the page. 221 Music Manuscripts located in the Parish Archives of Birkirkara are now in vHMML Reading Room. These manuscripts include several early works by Maltese composers, including the 18th-century master composer Francesco Azopardi. vHMML Reading Room now has over 1500 music manuscripts from Malta that can be searched.

One volume of parish records microfilmed by the Malta Study Center for the Church of the Assumption (Gudja, Malta) is now available in vHMML Reading Room. Gudja parish church was built in 1656. The parish, identified then as Birmiftuh, dates back at least to 1436, when it was mentioned as one of ten parishes in Malta.
