Stift Lilienfeld. Bibliothek

This Cistercian monastery, 50 miles southwest of Vienna, was founded in 1202 by Duke Leopold VI, called the Glorious. The entire collection of 230 manuscripts (dating from the 12th to the 16th c.) was photographed for HMML. Digital images of the manuscripts have been prepared by Lilienfeld Abbey and links to these images are provided in Reading Room.
