Saint Scholastica is a monastery for women founded by the Benedictine community in Mdina in 1604. The Church of Saint Anne attached to the monastery was built in 1679 by Lorenzo Gafà. The monastery was built near the Holy Infirmary established by the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem in 1532, whose structure served as the cloister for the Benedictine nuns after 1652.
