Julie Dietman is the Assistant for Advancement & Library Services, a role she has held since she joined HMML in 1996. Prior to joining HMML, she worked in administration for the Boys and Girls Club of Central Minnesota, St. Cloud. She started her career in the travel industry and holds a certification in travel management from McConnell Travel School, Minneapolis.
In her HMML role, Dietman works with donors, scholars, and partner libraries. She supports the Director of Advancement in executing development and donor-related activities. In addition, she provides administrative support for visiting scholar services, including the Heckman Stipend and Fellowship research programs. She also works with scholars who wish to order copies of manuscripts and other resources from HMML.
What she enjoys most about her work: “Seeing firsthand how the work HMML does makes a lasting difference in the world is gratifying. I enjoy working with our visiting scholars, building relationships with them, and learning about their lives. These kinds of exchanges not only give me a more personal understanding about them, but also an opportunity to make each scholar feel more welcomed and connected with HMML and the Benedictine community, even after they return home.”
