IRA Gifts
Giving from your IRA
How to support the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library (HMML) through your IRA.
To make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from your IRA to HMML, this is typically the process:
- Notify your IRA custodian (the financial institution where your IRA is held) of your intent to make a QCD to HMML.
- Be sure to use HMML’s Federal Tax ID (EIN)#: 87-4063122
- Specify the amount you'd like to contribute to HMML and fill out any required paperwork. Be sure to let us know about your QCD. The best way to do so is by emailing Katrina Schlude, Director of Advancement, at kschlude001@hmml.org
- Your IRA custodian will then send a check directly to HMML. To send donations by mail, please address it to:
HMML, 2835 Abbey Plaza, P.O. Box 7300, Collegeville, MN 56321 - HMML will notify you when funds have been received and issue a receipt.
Please consult your IRA custodian or tax advisor on how specific rules may apply to your situation.
Thank you for considering a gift from your IRA to HMML. If you have additional questions about giving to HMML through a QCD, please contact Katrina Schlude at kschlude001@hmml.org or (320) 363-2095.
“If you are 70 1/2 years of age or older, you can give directly from your IRA account to HMML with a qualified charitable distribution (QCD). Unlike a traditional IRA distribution, a QCD is not counted as taxable income and no income tax is paid on the charitable distribution - an added tax benefit to you, while making a meaningful impact when you support HMML with your gift.”
