HMML filmed over 600 manuscripts at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau (founded 1457), dating from the 7th to the 19th c. These manuscripts cover all aspects of theological, legal, scientific, and liturgical studies. Many came to the university during the secularizations of the 18th and 19th c. The university opened its new library building in 2015.
