Universitätsbibliothek Giessen: HMML Repository

Universitätsbibliothek Giessen

At the University of Giessen (founded 1607), HMML filmed nearly 600 manuscripts, dating from the 7th to the 19th c. The collection includes many works of medieval theology, as well as works by Latin authors and from medieval German literature. Two of the more famous manuscripts are a Latin evangeliary (c. 1000) and a 13th-c. copy of the courtly romance Iwein by Hartmann von Aue.
