Also known as the IMRFPC, this national Mauritanian institution dedicates itself to science, culture, and heritage, and its mission includes the study, conservation, and maintenance of national manuscripts. HMML will partner with IMRFPC to digitize manuscripts from many libraries in the country, including family libraries named after an ancestor (such as the father or grandfather) of the current owners, as well as mosque libraries. The libraries are intended to originate in many ancient towns, including Chinguti, Ouadane, Tichit, Oualata, Nema, and Tijikja, among others.
