Catholic Church. Diocese of Kotor

The Biskupski Arhiv Kotor, or Archive of the Kotor Diocese, is one of the oldest “in continuo” archives in the region. The oldest document is from 1431--the documents from the years prior to that year were destroyed in fire. Documents kept in this archive are an invaluable source for the research of local history, art, culture, and society. The collection is connected to the administration of the Diocese, and it mostly documents the activities of the Curia, correspondence received and sent, formal documents, anagraphic records, “ad limina” reports, and similar documentation.
