The patriarch's collection of the Armenian Patriarchate of Istanbul (Constantinople), consisting of manuscripts in Classical Armenian, with some in Arabic and Ottoman-Turkish. Among these manuscripts are beautifully illuminated Gospels, illuminated liturgical books, Synaxaria/Menologia, two illuminated prayer scrolls, homilies, commentaries, hymnals (Sharagnots‘) with musical notations, Psalters, philosophical works, and interesting collections of astrological writings and calendars, suggesting peoples’ preoccupation with horoscopes.
