Stadtbibliothek Mainz
Of the roughly 1300 medieval and early modern manuscripts at the municipal library in Mainz, HMML filmed about 850, chiefly from the 15th c., but including materials dating from the 8th/9th c. to the 18th c. Many of these manuscripts came to the library from local religious houses that were closed in the 18th and 19th c., including those of the Carthusians, Benedictines, Jesuits, Capuchins and others.
