Haadi E Deccan Library And Research Institute: HMML Repository
Haadi-e-Deccan Library and Research Institute
The Haadi e Deccan Library and Research Institute was originally founded as Kutab Khana e Razzaqia in 1854 by Hazrat Sayed Abdullah Shah Quadri, who was born in 1832 in Adoni, located around 300 km south of present-day Hyderabad. After moving to Hyderabad, he established the library within the Khanqah founded by his grandfather, Hazrat Syed Mohiuddin Badshah Quadri in the first decade of the 19th century.
Initially, the library started with around 100 manuscripts. However, under the leadership of Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Razzaq Quadri, the library’s collection grew to 800 manuscripts by the late 19th century. The library began incorporating printed books under the guidance of Hazrat (Dr.) Syed Mohiuddin Quadri Haadi, who became the khanqah's janesheen (successor) in 1960. By the time of his death in 2006, the library's collection had expanded to 80,000 books.
The current janesheen, Hazrat Syed Abdul Mohaimin Quadri, has continued this legacy since 2006, working to preserve and rescue both manuscripts and printed books. He also leads a forum of scholars at this institute who are engaged in editing and researching the manuscripts from this collection.
